DAF CHEMICALS & PROCESS OPTIMIZATION
Better separation starts with the right chemistry, dosage and feed conditions. Watermen tests your actual wastewater, develops a treatment sequence and supplies the polymers and supporting chemicals needed for reliable DAF performance.
SAMPLE TESTING & CHEMICAL SELECTION
Send Watermen a representative wastewater sample for bench testing at our expense. We evaluate the sample and determine the combination of polymer, coagulant, metal precipitant and pH adjustment that produces effective floc formation and separation.
COMPLETE DAF CHEMICAL SUPPORT
• Wastewater sample and jar testing
• Polymer and coagulant selection
• pH adjustment and metal precipitation
• Chemical dosage recommendations
• Supply of Watermen’s preferred polymers and supporting chemicals
• Chemical-feed equipment adjustment
• Troubleshooting poor flotation or separation
• Reducing chemical consumption and sludge production
• Ongoing site visits, monitoring and optimization
• Training for plant operators and maintenance personnel
PROCESS OPTIMIZATION
Chemical performance depends on more than the product in the tote. Mixing time, pH, dosage, feed location, recycle conditions and equipment operation all affect the result. Watermen evaluates the complete process and helps correct the cause of carryover, weak floc, excessive sludge or high chemical use.
FROM TESTING TO FULL-SCALE OPERATION
Once the bench test identifies a promising program, Watermen helps translate it to the plant. We can supply the chemicals, set initial feed rates, adjust equipment, monitor results and train personnel so the treatment program remains effective as wastewater conditions change.
Serving industrial wastewater facilities throughout the Eastern United States.
FRACKING WATER TREATMENT — BEFORE & AFTER
This fracking-water sample was treated using caustic for pH adjustment, a metal precipitant, coagulant and flocculant. The treatment formed settleable solids and produced visibly clearer water in bench testing.
Watermen uses this same site-specific testing process to select chemistry and dosage before recommending a full-scale treatment program.
