DAF CHEMICALS & PROCESS OPTIMIZATION
Better separation starts with the right chemistry, dosage and feed conditions. Watermen tests your actual wastewater, develops a treatment sequence and supplies the polymers and supporting chemicals needed for reliable DAF performance.
SAMPLE TESTING & CHEMICAL SELECTION
Watermen offers onsite testing and testing of customer samples in our lab. We prefer a representative wastewater sample for jar testing in the Watermen lab; bench testing is at our expense. We evaluate combinations of polymer, coagulant, metal precipitant and pH adjustment to identify promising floc formation and separation.

PROCESS OPTIMIZATION
Chemical performance depends on more than the product in the tote. Mixing time, pH, dosage, feed location, recycle conditions and equipment operation all affect the result. Watermen evaluates the complete process and helps correct the cause of carryover, weak floc, excessive sludge or high chemical use.
FROM TESTING TO FULL-SCALE OPERATION
Once the bench test identifies a promising program, Watermen helps translate it to the plant. We can supply the chemicals, set initial feed rates, adjust equipment, monitor results and train personnel so the treatment program remains effective as wastewater conditions change.
Based in Suwanee, Georgia, Watermen takes on industrial wastewater projects east of the Mississippi River.
WHAT YOU RECEIVE FROM TESTING
We send the results with photographs showing whether the tested treatment achieved separation or did not. Sometimes lab analysis of the supernatant—the clarified liquid—is needed to measure changes in target constituents. The findings inform chemical and dosage recommendations and the next step at your plant.
CHEMICAL-FEED PUMPS AND ONSITE ADJUSTMENT
Watermen can supply chemicals and help adjust the treatment program onsite. We check whether feed pumps are adequate for the wastewater flow and proposed dosing, perform sizing calculations and explain them to your team. We can supply pumps or help with customer-purchased equipment, including calibration.
FRACKING WATER TREATMENT — BEFORE & AFTER
This fracking-water sample was treated using caustic for pH adjustment, a metal precipitant, coagulant and flocculant. The treatment formed settleable solids and produced visibly clearer water in bench testing.
Watermen uses this same site-specific testing process to select chemistry and dosage before recommending a full-scale treatment program.
