ONSITE FLOW-METER & PROBE CALIBRATION IN ATLANTA

Watermen travels to industrial facilities in Atlanta and the surrounding area for onsite wastewater flow-meter and probe calibration. Based in Suwanee, Georgia, we also take on projects east of the Mississippi River.

WE BRING CALIBRATION EQUIPMENT TO YOUR FACILITY

Our technicians bring reference equipment to your site to evaluate installed flow meters under operating conditions. Closed-pipe and magnetic meters are checked using a portable clamp-on reference meter. Open-channel flumes and weirs are checked using physical level measurements and appropriate flow calculations.

FLOW-METER TYPES WE SERVICE

  • Magnetic flow meters

  • Ultrasonic and clamp-on meters

  • Open-channel flow meters

  • Flumes and weirs

  • Insertion meters

  • Other industrial wastewater flow-measurement systems

WATER-QUALITY METER & PROBE CALIBRATION

Watermen services pH, dissolved oxygen (DO), ammonia, conductivity, oxidation-reduction potential (ORP), turbidity and chlorine meters and probes, along with a broad range of other wastewater monitoring instruments. We review the manufacturer’s manual and follow model-specific calibration procedures. The appropriate method depends on the instrument, its condition and the application.

Conductivity calibration uses an appropriate reference standard and the manufacturer’s temperature-compensation procedure. ORP service includes checking readings against an appropriate reference solution; calibration or adjustment is performed when supported by the instrument’s manufacturer.

Turbidity calibration and verification use standards appropriate to the instrument’s optical design and measurement range. Chlorine instruments are calibrated or verified using the manufacturer’s specified standards or reference tests, such as a DPD colorimetric comparison where applicable. We confirm the measurement method and site conditions before selecting the procedure.

The manufacturer, model and measurement parameter are helpful when assessing an instrument and preparing for a site visit.

CONFINED-SPACE ACCESS FOR CALIBRATION

Confined-space calibration work is available subject to a site-specific assessment, safe access and site conditions. We review the location and conditions before determining whether Watermen can perform the work. Availability is assessed for each site.

CALIBRATION, TROUBLESHOOTING & REPAIR

If a flow meter or probe does not pass calibration, Watermen notifies the customer and discusses the findings and possible next steps. Troubleshooting, adjustment, programming or repairs are often available, depending on the instrument and installation. Repair availability is assessed individually, and repairs are not automatically included in calibration service. Because we are not tied to one manufacturer, we can help select a solution suited to the facility’s process and budget.

CALIBRATION DOCUMENTATION INCLUDED

Completed flow-meter and probe calibrations include a dated calibration sticker, a calibration certificate and a full before-and-after report. Documentation records instrument model numbers, reference equipment, the method used and results from the service date. Stickers give facility staff a convenient reference during regulatory inspections; calibration documentation does not guarantee regulatory compliance. If an instrument fails calibration, its results and status are documented accurately—it is not represented as passing.

HOW SHOULD WE PREPARE FOR A CALIBRATION VISIT?

Prior calibration and service records are helpful when available. Running equipment and operating flow are preferred for many checks, along with a suitable, accessible sample or measurement point. The instrument model and calibration method determine which checks are possible at zero flow; a full-range calibration may require operating conditions. Dirty wastewater working conditions are normal and do not make a facility ineligible for service. Confined-space work remains subject to site assessment and safe access.

REQUEST A QUOTE OR A FREE ONSITE ESTIMATE

Site location, instrument count, makes and models, and photos are helpful for preparing a quote, but you do not need every detail to contact us. Watermen also offers a free onsite estimate. Call (770) 944-1117 or request service to discuss your facility, service area and visit availability.

WHY CALIBRATION MATTERS

Reliable flow and probe readings support discharge records, treatment decisions and day-to-day plant operation. Routine calibration helps identify measurement problems and supports informed troubleshooting as wastewater and operating conditions change.
